Do Państwa Philips wybrałem się na krótko po wystawie w Porto 2005. Do Grembergen-Dendermonde przybyłem wieczorem, podczas gdy na gołębnikach Państwo Philips pełniło swe codzienne czynności. Ku mojemu zdziwieniu hodowla ta nie jest zbyt liczna jak na osiągi, które są znane na całym świecie. Obecnie stado liczy 32 wdowce (16 starych oraz 16 rocznych) oraz kilkanaście wdów, które są dopiero wdrażane do programu lotowego. W gołębniku rozpłodowym znajduje się 24 pary, przy czym są również dodatkowe samice do rozpłodu, które są kolejno dopuszczane do najlepszych championów.

W tym roku niewątpliwą chlubą gołębnika Państwa Philips jest "Sazil", który zajął pierwsze miejsce na Olimpiadzie Porto w kategorii All-Round. Pomimo, iż "Olimpic Sazil" wrócił kilka dni przed moją wizytą u Państwa Philips wyglądał wyśmienicie.
Można bez wątpliwości powiedzieć, że oglądnąć jednego gołębie to tak, jakby oglądnąć wszystkie. Gołębie Państwa Philips są perfekcyjnie zbudowane i wszystkie jednego pokroju, co świadczy o tym że jest to jedna rodzina.
Oto kilka imponujących gołębi wraz z wynikami:
Gołębie naprawdę wywierają niesamowite wrażenie, mają bardzo miękkie upierzenie oraz pięknie ubarwione, tryskające inteligencją oczy. Równie duże wrażenie wywierają sami hodowcy Klara i Geert, są bardzo sympatyczni, chętnie wszystko pokazuję w hodowli oraz udzielają wyczerpujących odpowiedzi. Przebywając tam kilka godzin można poczuć się jak u przysłowiowych "starych znajomych". Niestety aby nabyć gołąbki trzeba je wcześniej zamówić. Ponieważ hodowla nie jest zbyt duża niema tam nadprodukcji gołębi młodych, wszystkie nadwyżki rozchodzą sie błyskawicznie.
